Moniz pulls out the running for Notts County job

Ricardo Moniz – the odds-on favourite to become County manager – will no longer be considered for the role due to ‘unforeseen family problems’.

Bookmakers stopped taking bets on Moniz to become County’s next manager but following lengthy discussions with the club he has decided he was unable to commit to the club at present time.

This leaves the race to become the next manger wide open with Darren Ferguson, James Shan and Nigel Worthington amongst the favourites.

County will be hoping to conclude their search for a manager sooner rather than later with big games against Walsall and Coventry coming up in the next five days.

County desperately need the points as they hover just above the relegation zone.
