New Ryanair schedule at East Midlands airport to create 2,000 jobs

Ryanair has launched its East Midlands summer 2015 schedule meaning extra flight routes and 2,000 more jobs at the airport.

The Irish airline launched its summer schedule this week with a view to increase the frequency of weekly flights to their most sought after destinations.

With the first 100,000 seats on sale for £19.99, the airline will now operate 35 routes from the Nottingham airport including a new route to Malta running twice weekly.

Kenny Jacobs, Ryanair’s chief marketing officer, said at East Midlands Airport:

“Ryanair is pleased to launch its first East Midlands 2015 summer schedule.

“With a new route to Malta, extra flights to Alicante, Berlin, Faro, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Malaga, Palma and Tenerife and 35 routes in total, which will deliver 2m customers and support 2,000 on-site jobs at East Midlands airport.”

UK customers will now be able to choose from a total of 155 weekly return flights and will enjoy reduced fees, allocated seating, a free second carry-on bag, a new Ryanair website and a brand new app with mobile boarding passes.

The airline will also be offering Family Extra and Business Plus tickets.

Already the local airport’s largest operator, accounting for almost half of its traffic, there will now be even more routes added to Ryanair’s schedule and an opportunity to work for the airline as well.

Ryanair will not only be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year but also 10 years of operating from East Midlands Airport.
