Plans for a new 29-bed student accommodation block in Lenton been approved by the City Council.
Applicant Dino Labbate applied for permission to build the project in Faraday Road – plans were approved today (January 20).
Mr Labbate founded Swish Architecture in 2010, an independent architectural company based in West Bridgford.
The site is currently vacant and sits to the south of a curtains show room in 95 Faraday Road.
The new accommodation will feature in an area of Nottingham already populated by students from both of Nottingham’s universities. It will be three-storeys high and will have “ample cycle parking” according to documents.

The block will have six flats with one three-bed, three four-beds and two seven-beds.
All bedrooms will have en-suite bathrooms and each apartment will have its own open plan kitchen and living room area.
The new student accommodation will sit close to the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus.
It will also benefit from bus stops on Derby Road within a five minute walk, providing plenty of routes into the city, Bulwell, Chilwell, Sandiacre, Long Eaton and Derby. Wollaton Road in the north also offers public transport links.
The site only has space for one car but planning papers indicate this is marked as “visitor/drop off car parking”, with “limited off-street parking” within the planned site.
