More than £6,000 has been raised after Liz Hardy was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of stomach cancer but the 36-year-old needs even more to get the life-saving treatment she requires.

Liz, from Mansfield has been diagnosed with a form of cancer so rare that treatment is only available privately and needs to raise £20,000.

After reading about Liz’s situation online, Nottingham based English teacher Christina Saccoh is campaigning to get Liz the life saving treatment that she desperately needs.

What stands in between this lady and her children is £20,000

Christina has recently been diagnosed with sarcoidosis, which came after doctors initially diagnosed her with cancer.

Christina said: “It was terrible as a mother of two with a disabled child. I cannot find the words to describe what I have been through.

As she continues to battle through her own diagnosis, Christina is desperate to do all that she can to help raise the money for Liz and feels strongly about the Mansfield woman’s case.

“To have to pay for this treatment is wrong and this illness is terminal, she needs this treatment,” she added.

Liz is currently travelling to London to receive specialist treatment and Christina hopes that enough money can be raised to help this lady through her ordeal.

“What stands in between this lady and her children is £20,000. We have to help this lady, we have to prolong this ladies life.”

Christina is continuing to raise awareness for Liz’s case and has told Notts TV that she will donate her entire week’s salary to the Just Giving page and posted this on Facebook:
