The consultation about Nottingham City Council’s proposed new Western Corridor cycle route has been extended.
The extension of the Western Corridor cycle route has now been extended until September 4th.
More than 200 responses have been made on the online map and many more people have had their say in person on the Consultation Bus consultation events last week.
Two more events are now being held so that people can share their views.
The events will take place at the Lenton Centre, Willoughby Street on Friday 28th August from 8am to 2pm and also, on the consultation bus, Park Road on Wednesday 2nd September from 12pm to 6pm.
Online consultations will continue until September.
Councillor Nick McDonald, Porfolio Holder for Jobs, Growth and Transport at Nottingham City Council, said: “It is encouraging that so many people are sharing their views on the Western Corridor with us.”
“This new route will be the centrepiece of our cycle network so it is vital that people let us know what they think about our proposals.”
“More and more people are choosing cycling as their preferred means of travel – it offers a healthier, fun, environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to get around the city.”

The Western Corridor is a new cycle route being developed as part of the £6.1 million Cycle City Ambition Programme, with the funding provided by the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and delivered in collaboration with a number of partner organisations.
From castle Boulevard through Abbey Bridge to Dunkirk, a new cycle superhighway will be created, offering a speedy, direct and segregated cycle route.
It will feature the very highest design standards and is an integral part of the proposals to increase Nottingham’s cycling take-up even further.
