Nottingham Forest Chairman Tom Cartledge has left the role with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon (October 1) the club said Cartledge has stepped down to dedicate more time to running his family business.
Nicholas Randall KC has been announced as his successor. He previously held the position of Chairman for six years from 2017, following the takeover of the club led by Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis.
Cartledge was appointed at the start of the 2023/24 season with the aim of helping the club to redevelop the City Ground and grow relationships with the city and the fans.
The club say he will remain on the Board of Directors and continue to support Forest’s growth off the pitch.
In the club statement, Mr Cartledge said: “I have had an incredible experience over the last 15 months, working for the club I love and have supported all my life.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to help deliver on Mr Marinakis’ ambitious plans for
the future of our Club and I am proud of the progress we have achieved together on a
number of key projects.
“Over the last year and a half we have taken significant steps in securing the Club’s future at an expanded City Ground and I will now continue to advise the owners on the real estate
strategy whilst spending more time working in my family business.
“Under Mr Marinakis the Club is in great hands to continue our journey back to the top of
English football and I look forward to doing all I can to make this happen.”
Nicholas Randall KC said: “I would like to extend my thanks to Tom for his hard work and dedication over the past year and a half.
“During that time, it has been a privilege to have remained closely involved with the Club as a member of the Board, and I am delighted to resume the role of Chairman today.
“I would like to thank Evangelos Marinakis and my fellow Board members for entrusting me
with the position once again, and I look forward to the next exciting chapter in our history.”
Mr Cartledge is Chief Executive of family business Handley House, the parent company of three design businesses, including architectural and design firm Benoy.
