Nottinghamshire local elections 2023: How to follow the results on Notts TV

Voters in every part of Nottinghamshire have the chance to choose local councillors on Thursday when eight authorities in the area hold elections.

Polls are being held in the council areas listed below. Click the links for further details including lists of candidates in each area.

Nottingham City Council
Rushcliffe Borough Council
Broxtowe Borough Council
Newark and Sherwood District Council
Gedling Borough Council
Ashfield District Council
Bassetlaw District Council
Mansfield District Council (council and mayoral election)

The votes are part of a day of polling affecting 230 councils across England. On Thursday, May 4, people who are registered to vote can do so at polling stations across their areas from 7am to 10pm.

For the first time in elections, photographic ID will need to be provided by anyone wanting to vote.

Two Nottinghamshire councils – Ashfield and Bassetlaw – are counting votes overnight and are expected to announce their results in the early hours of Friday, May 5.

All the other Nottinghamshire councils holding elections, including the City Council, will count votes on Friday morning and are expected to announce their results on Friday afternoon.
