Notts County head coach Stuart Maynard believes the results will come again as the Magpies prepare for their return to League Two action on Saturday.

County visit Salford tomorrow (December 14) in a game which brings pressure on the team following four without a win – dropping them out of the League Two play-off places.

Speaking on Friday ahead of the game, Maynard said he doesn’t feel pressure- despite results not going their way recently.

“We are consistent in what we do in the way that we prep and the way that we stick to our beliefs in the squad I think that our performance levels have been very good,” he said.

“The results we haven’t quite got, it’s frustrating for all of us that are involved but I feel if we keep performing to the level that we will we’ll start picking up the three points again,” Maynard added.

Maynard also said players with long-term injuries are “probably kicking every ball from where they are watching the game.”

He added: “They want to be back involved helping the team fight to get three points every week it’s a big frustration I feel we’ve been hugely unlucky with the injuries that we’ve got.”

On Thursday (December 12) afternoon the team visited Nottingham Queens Medical Centre (QMC) to spread some Christmas joy by meeting children and giving out gifts.

Maynard said: “It’s brilliant, it was a great afternoon to see the smiles on a lot of the children’s faces that we can give back to them.

“We are in a privileged position in what we do and it was really nice to go in and it’s something that I firmly believe in, getting into the community and being able to give back to them,” he added.

Maynard revealed that Dan Crowley is in contention to play tomorrow, with Connor Grant and Curtis Edwards back on the grass in training. Winger Jodi Jones remains without a firm playing return date.

Maynard’s side visit Salford City, who currently sit 12th in League Two, tomorrow (December 14) in a 12.30pm kick off.
