Notts County have signed Lincoln City left-back Sean Newton on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has agreed to join the Magpies after impressing this season in the Vanarama Conference Premier division.
The English footballer penned the deal, with a view to a permanent move in the summer, this morning (13 February) before joining his new team-mates at training.
Newton began his career at Chester and went on to play for Southport, Droylsden, Barrow and AFC Telford.
He spent the 2012/13 campaign with Stockport County following a successful loan spell.
In the summer of 2013, the defender moved to Lincoln City where he attracted the interest of a host of Football League clubs with a string of standout performances. County defender Jordan Cranston will be heading the other way, joining Lincoln on loan until the end of the 2014/15 season.
Cranston is set to make his Imps debut in their home tie against Chester on Saturday.
