A Mansfield man has been jailed for 25 years after being found guilty of child abuse, including 24 sexual offences and five cruelty offences.
Dean William Burden, 34, carried out the abuse over a period of about 12 years.
He was sentenced on Monday (January 15) at Nottingham Crown Court having been found guilty of 24 sexual offences against three children and five cruelty offences following a 10-day trial.
He was given a 25-year custodial sentence and will be subject to five further years on extended licence.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Quinn said: “Burden’s horrific actions have had a profound impact on these children who have shown immense bravery in speaking out about their abuse.
“Burden’s sentencing will never make up for what happened but I hope it gives the victims some comfort to know that he has been locked up for such a significant amount of time.
“I also hope this sentence gives encouragement to any other survivors of abuse that they can come forward and we will investigate and seek justice for them – even if the abuse happened a long time ago.”
Burden was also made subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register indefinitely.
