Nottinghamshire Police have found a body in the search for a man who went missing last week.
The force launched an appeal on Friday (January 13) to help find 25-year-old Anthony McGovern, who has been missing since Thursday.
On Sunday officers confirmed they stepped up the search and found a body in Newark.
The man’s body has not yet been identified and the death remains unexplained – but the force has spoken with Anthony’s family about the development.
The body was found on waste land at the end of Trent Lane, at the bottom of the A46 flyover next to the East Coast railway line.
A post-mortem examination will take place today to identify the cause of death (January 16).
