Video: Sheridan on the potential cup trip to Premier League leaders Chelsea
Notts manager John Sheridan says he’s looking for the Magpies to ‘turn the season’ against Peterborough United as Chelsea await the winners in the next round.
The Magpies sit 20th in Sky Bet League 2 having lost their sixth league game in a row, 2-1 away at Colchester, on Saturday (December 17) but have the opportunity to play Chelsea in the third round of the FA Cup if they beat Peterborough away on Tuesday (December 20).
The first staging of the second round tie finished 2-2 as Notts clinched a replay with a 94th minute equaliser.
We need to get that win – whether it’s scrappy or even a poor performance
Sheridan said: “When you’re losing games, confidence is an issue as you’re thinking, when is the next win going to be or when is the next good performance going to be.
“We need to just get that win – whether it’s a scrappy win, even if it’s a poor performance – we just need to get points.
“In defensive areas, I’m unsure of who I’m going to play; I’m thinking are they going to make a mistake because I don’t like changing the team around that much.
“Tomorrow’s game might be what we are looking for; there are good games coming up for us where we could turn the season.”
