A one-in-25-million triple yolk egg has been cracked open in Notts after chicks were incubated at an infant school and nursery.

Kay Sullivan took chick eggs into Alderman Pounder Infant School and Nursery in Chilwell where they were incubated.

The chicks hatched at the end of March and have since grown into hens.

They have been laying eggs – including one which had a triple yolk!

The hens have received recognition from local celebrities including international Nottinghamshire DJ Philip George.
