Forest coach Paul Williams has publicly rejected reports club owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi has been trying to dictate team selection.
Williams told Notts TV only he is responsible for the starting line-up – refuting claims in a national newspaper report that Al-Hasawi has exerted pressure on him since the sacking of Dougie Freedman.
“I’ve picked the team for the last four games and the tactics – so that’s what I’ve done and I’ll continue to do so,” he said.
The report claimed Williams was ready to walk away from the club – which he also denied.
Forest were beaten 3-0 by Brentford at the weekend and lost 2-1 against Reading on Tuesday evening at the Madejski Stadium.
Williams, assisted by Andy Reid, took charge of coaching last month following the sacking of Freedman.
When asked if there was any truth in any of the claims, he added: “I’ve picked the teams, and that is the top and bottom of it all.”
Al Hasawi moved to try to reassure fans earlier this week, when he Tweeted: “It is important that we stick together as we have since day one in order to come through the challenging times.”
