Detectives investigating the suspected murder of a 66-year-old man in Mansfield Woodhouse have been granted extra time to question a woman in custody.
The 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after the man suffered “serious injuries” and was pronounced dead after being taken to Kings Mill Hospital.
Police and an ambulance were called to a house in Long Meadow at around 9.10pm on Monday night (June 5), where they found the injured man.
The woman was arrested soon after and detectives have since been granted extra time, past the normal 24 hours, to question her on Wednesday.
A Notts Police spokesman said: “An investigation is in its early stages, however, investigators believe this to be an isolated incident and are not searching for anyone else.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 943 of June 5 2017.
