The whole tram network has been affected whilst police deal with an incident at the northbound stop in Basford.
The pedestrian bridge was closed from the early hours of this morning to the public, affecting local commuters.
Any passengers on the tram were told to get off at the David Lane stop instead.
Nottingham Road is closed off by police.
The NET Tram website said: “Whole network affected – Due to a police incident the north bound platform at Basford and the pedestrian bridge at Basford have been closed.
“NET apologises for any inconvenience to your journey today.”
Police have not yet confirmed happened.
