Video: Notts TV’s Christian Hewgill speaks to John Sheridan about selection
Notts County manager John Sheridan enjoys having a selection headache and recognises the importance of starting off well at home.
Notts County have started their season with two 2-0 losses, one away at Yeovil in Sky Bet League Two and the other at Scunthorpe in the EFL Cup.
The Magpies will be looking to get their points tally up and running as they host Stevenage at Meadow Lane on Saturday (August 13) at 3pm.
I like having a selection headache as a manager
He said: “I’ll get judged on the team I pick, hopefully I’ll be proven right but I’ve got people who want to be in the team.
“I can only pick 11 and I’ve got to make sure that I pick the right 11.
“I like having a selection headache as a manager and I’ve got to pick the right way we’re going to play to get a result against Stevenage.”
I’d like to get off to a winning start for the supporters
John Sheridan also highlighted the importance of having a good home record.
He said: “It’s the first home game where there’s something at stake and the home form is going to be vital this season.
“We’ve got to be strong and pick points at home.
“With it being the first at home, I’d like to get off to a winning start for the supporters.”
