Both Notts Outlaws and Yorkshire Vikings can boost their Natwest T20 Blast knockout bids with a win at Trent Bridge tonight.
A win for Notts would see them all but guarantee a quarter final spot as they tussle with the Steelbacks at the top of the group for a more favourable knockout draw.
The winner of the north group plays at home to the fourth placed team in the south group.
Notts come into the game having not lost in nine games, with five wins and four no results, one including the Outlaws’ last fixture away at Leicestershire which was abandoned without a ball bowled.
Natwest T20 Blast North Group (as of Friday July 15 morning)
- Notts Outlaws P11 W5 L2 Pts14
- Northamptonshire Steelbacks P10 W6 L2 Pts14
- Birmingham Bears P9 W5 L3 Pts11

Yorkshire could fire themselves into the top four with a win tonight which would put them into the knockout phases of the competition.
The Vikings come into the game on the back of three straight wins with the last two being won by two runs or less.
