Equipment from a Nottingham army surplus store has been used in one of this year’s biggest action films.

Anchor Supplies, on Cattle Market Road, sent a cache of goods to the makers of thriller London Has Fallen.

The Hollywood blockbuster is in cinemas this week and stars Morgan Freeman and Gerard Butler.

Tommy Hedges, director of the company, said: “We’re just a small Nottingham firm but we’ve got high aspirations and it’s great to see our kit on the big screen in a movie.

“The producers had a big shopping list and we managed to supply all sorts of stuff.

“It was mostly police clothing and equipment and some special forces stuff in there as well.”

A stab vest worn by Butler, who plays secret service agent Mike Banning, is among the most prominent Anchor-related items.

Video: London has Fallen was released this week

The film tells the story of a fictional terror attack on London targeting world leaders who have gathered for the British Prime Minister’s funeral.

Anchor Supplies has been running for nearly 30 years, and began life by selling a small selection of items in a shed.
