A man has been arrested after what police described as a ‘serious’ crash in Nottingham city centre on Monday morning.
The incident happened on North Sherwood Street, near the junction with Peel Street, at around 10.10am (January 28).
Both roads are closed. Police have not yet released details of any injuries or why the man was arrested, but are expected to provide further information later.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said they had been called to help cut one man free from a car involved.
A Notts Police spokesman said: “Anyone who witnessed the collision or the moments before it happened, is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police.”
Police forensics staff are at the scene of the crash, alongside specialist road collision investigators.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service tweeted: “Two crews from #LondonRoad are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on #PeelStreet in Nottingham where a car has been in collision with a wall.
“Firefighters are working to extricate one male casualty and are working alongside @nottspolice and @EMASNHSTrust.”
