Ryanair is cancelling flights over the next six weeks, including some from East Midlands Airport.

A Ryanair fight bound for East Midlands Airport was diverted when a passenger became ill on board.

Flight FR1633 form Limoges, France, declared a medical emergency at 11.30am on Tuesday and landed safely at Paris Beauvais shortly afterwards.

The passenger was met by medics and received further treatment for an undisclosed condition.

A spokesman for Ryanair said: “A customer became ill on board. The aircraft landed normally and the customer was met by medical personnel, and disembarked for further treatment.

“The aircraft is due to depart for East Midlands shortly. Ryanair sincerely apologises to affected customers for any inconvenience caused.”

The flight had left Limoges at 10.40am and crew declared the emergency shortly afterwards as it approached Rouen. Around 160 passengers are on the flight.
