Santa hat-wearing burglar caught on CCTV smashing into Beeston shop

Two burglars – including one wearing a Santa hat – smashed their way into a Beeston shop before helping themselves to thousands of pounds worth of equipment.

Police have released CCTV footage of the break-in, which happened at Plasterers 1 Stop Shop, on Barrydale Avenue.

Two cameras caught the two men using a car as leverage to kick in a door panel, then scramble inside and help themselves to stock.

One is wearing a dark jacket while the other is in a lighter coat and is wearing a Santa-style festive bobble hat.

A generator, projection machine, lighting and two transformers were taken in the break-in.

It happened on December 2 but police have only now released the pictures after early inquiries failed to identify the thieves.

Anyone who can help is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, quoting incident 885 of December 2 2016.
