Second city stabbing in space of five hours

A man was stabbed in a block of flats in the second knife attack in the city in five hours.

The incident happened around around midnight last night inside a flat in Ash View on Norton Street, Radford.

A 41-year-old man was stabbed inside the flat by another man, who then ran off.

It happened around five hours after two teenagers were knifed in North Sherwood Street, just over a mile away.

The Norton Street victim suffered a number of stab wounds but did not suffer any life-threatening or life-altering injuries.

Notts Police said he went to the Queen’s Medical Centre, but is expected to be discharged soon.

Police have arrested three men and a woman aged between 35 and 43 of suspicion of GBH.

They have all been subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.

A Notts Police spokesman said: “Whilst a number of arrests have been made, officers remain extremely keen to hear from anyone with information about this incident, particularly anyone living in the flats who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of yesterday.”
