Special Nottingham vigil being held in Market Square

A vigil will take place to remember the thousands of men, women and children who have lost their lives trying to escape from the conflict in their lands.

Over the last few weeks the world has been shocked by the images of people losing their lives whilst fleeing war and terror in their own countries.

A Nottingham vigil will take place to remember those who have lost their lives.

Local Organiser, Louise Regan believes that it is their duty to raise awareness of the current situation.

She said: “As mothers we cannot imagine what it must be like to have to flee your homes with nothing and to risk everything to try and get your family to a country where they may be safe.”

“In taking this massive risk many, many innocent men, women and children are losing their lives. As humanitarians we cannot allow this to continue.”

The vigil will take place in the Market Square, on Monday 7th September at 7pm.
