After a run of six defeats in the last seven matches, Stuart Pearce has been ousted from his position as Nottingham Forest manager and replaced by Dougie Freedman.
With the 1-0 home defeat at Millwall on Saturday, Forest had just one win in 11 and that proved to be the last game Pearce will take charge of the team.
The club legend had a meeting on Sunday with owner Fawaz al-Hasawi and the club issued a statement soon after.
A statement read: “After long discussions between owner and chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi and manager Stuart Pearce, the club has decided that Stuart will be relieved of his role as manager with immediate effect.”
Al-Hasawi went on to say dismissing Reds legend Pearce was his “hardest footballing decision”.
Freedman is another former Forest player to take the reigns, playing with them in between 1998 and 2000, and has previously managed in the Championship with Crystal Palace and Bolton.
