Teenager charged with attempted murder after man injured in St Ann’s fight

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after a man was left with serious knife injuries following a fight in the street.

Police responded to reports of an altercation between two people on St Ann’s Way, St Ann’s, at around 11pm on Sunday (November 24).

The victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries that are not currently believed to be life threatening. His condition is described as stable.

A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named legally because of his age, was arrested on Tuesday (November 26).

Notts Police say he has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, November 28).

Det Insp Chris Berryman, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “I am pleased we have now been able to charge a suspect in this case.

“As we continue to progress with our investigation, we are still urging anyone who has information which could assist us with our inquiries, who hasn’t already come forward, to please contact us as soon as possible.”
