Tracks blocked between Clifton Centre and Clifton South after tram hits car

The tram line between Clifton Centre and Clifton South is currently blocked with emergency services attending the scene.

NET posted a Tweet at 3.23pm this afternoon (Wednesday August 30) saying there is no service between the stops.

Notts Police were called out at around 3.30pm to the incident after a collision between a car and a tram.

A statement from the force said: “Officers were called at 3.30pm to reports of a collision between a car and a tram on Southchurch Drive.

“An ambulance and police are on the scene – injuries to people involved are not believed to be life-threatening.”

NET posted an update at 4.15pm which said: “Emergency services are on site at the incident.

“The Navy line buses pick up from bus stops across the road from Clifton Centre and drop off just past our Summerwood Lane stop where the Clifton South park and ride is easily accessible by crossing the road and using the direct footpath into the park and ride site.”
