Two people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on Middleton Boulevard which has caused massive delays for transport in the city.
The crash between a cyclist and motorcyclist has brought traffic to come to a standstill on the road which has now been closed between Crown Island and the QMC.
Nottingham City Transport is reporting severe delays on many of their routes.
Due to the stationary traffic for the last few hours they are reporting delays on the lines: Pink 28, 30; Orange 34, 35, 36; Grey 53; Turquoise 77, 78, 79, 79A and Local Link L10 buses.
Nottinghamshire Police spokesperson:
“Nottinghamshire Police were called at just after 7.30am today (Tuesday 21 April) following a serious collision between a motorcyclist and a cyclist on Crown Island at the junction of Wollaton Road and Middleton Boulevard.
“Two people (a female cyclist and a male motorcyclist) have been taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
“Motorists are warned to expect delays while Middleton Boulevard remains closed southbound from Crown Island towards the QMC while police continue their enquiries.”
Police have advised drivers to stay away from the road tweeting: “Travel update: Middleton Boulevard closed southbound (Crown Island-QMC) following a serious collision this morning. Avoid where possible.”
The current condition of those involved in the crash is unknown but their injuries are said to be serious.
The road is expected to be closed for some time.
