Two arrested after ‘modern slavery’ raid on Radford address

Two people have been arrested in a raid as part of an investigation into modern slavery in Nottingham.

Notts Police searched an address in Birkin Avenue, Radford, at 6.05am on Thursday morning (May 31).

A 42-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking and fraud by false representation and are being questioned by detectives.

A 57-year-old man who was found at the address is now being given specialist support by officers, a Notts Police spokesman said.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information about suspected modern slavery is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, or the national Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700,” they added.
