A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy have been charged with murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Radford.
Seventeen-year-old Ezekiel Clarke died shortly after police and ambulance crews were called to a report of a stabbing in Churchfield Lane at around 7.10pm on Wednesday (February 19).
Jaheim Williams, 19, of Trafalgar Close, Radford, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have both been charged with murder. Both appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (February 26).
Detectives have also confirmed that no further action will be taken against an 18-year-old man and a second 16-year-old boy who had previously been arrested as part of their enquiries.
Superintendent Mat Healey, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Knife crime is an issue that Nottinghamshire Police treats as an absolute priority – and that is especially true in cases like this, where the incident has resulted in the tragic loss of such a young life.
“The number of arrests made following this incident shows the seriousness with which this incident has been treated and two people will now be put before the courts after they were charged with Ezekiel’s murder.
“Specialist officers are continuing to support Ezekiel’s family as they come to terms with his death and our officers will maintain their visible presence in Radford as part of their continuing efforts to reassure the local community.”
