UPDATE: Family pay tribute to 72-year-old man who died in collision with car in Stapleford

Nottinghamshire Police have named the man who died in a collision with a car in Stapleford which caused part of the town centre to be cordoned off.

Colin Philip Brown, 72, from Springfield Avenue in Sandiacre died after suffering a serious head injury and dying at the scene of the incident on Friday (May 18).

Nottinghamshire Police were called to Derby Road in Stapleford at around 1.40pm.

Colin’s family issued a tribute which said: “Colin was a loving husband, father and a kind and caring gentleman to all that knew him.

“He sadly leaves behind a loving wife and many family and friends, and will be missed by all.”

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
