Video: Watch people auditioning to become Nottingham’s animatronic dinosaur

It’s not often you come across a job description that requires you to wear and operate a full-sized dinosaur costume.

That’s the latest role available at Nottingham City Council, which is looking for a full-time actor and puppeteer who can operate the three metre-high animatronic creation.

The idea is to promote the Dinosuars of China exhibition, coming to Wollaton Hall and Lakeside Arts this summer.

The dinosaur – carnivorous Sinraptor called ‘Hunter’, was put on display before 22 candidates auditioned at Wollaton Hall on Monday (March 20).

The exhibition will run from July 1 to October 29 this year, and will bring 26 different dinosaur replicas and fossils to Nottingham’s Wollaton Hall and Nottingham Lakeside Arts.

A winning candidate from the auditions is expected to be announced in the next two days.
