Ex-England and Forest footballer Jermaine Jenas was among a trio of sports stars who helped to open a city school’s £3.35 million extention.
Mellers Primary in Radford has now doubled in size to 420 places after the development.
And Jenas, who grew up in Clifton, was joined by Great Britain gymnast Ellie Downie and former world champion boxer Jawaid Khaliq, who are also from Notts.
Work included eight new classrooms and a hall, and expanding the nursery from 26 to 52 places. The project was finished last month.
