Watch: Patients thank Maggie’s as cancer support centre celebrates sixth birthday

Patients have said a warm thank you to cancer support centre Maggie’s on its sixth birthday.

The centre, at Nottingham City Hospital, was set up in 2011 to provide free emotional and social support to patients and their families.

Since then it has helped thousands of people face the disease and continue to live fulfilling lives while having treatment.

On Thursday (Nov 2) more than a hundred people visited to take part in celebrations to thank the centre and its staff.

Centre head Kate Martin said: “It’s a testament to the work we do and the meaning that Maggie’s has on their lives – it always warms my heart just to see people coming and celebrating with us.”
