British boy-band The Vamps have promised an ‘airy pads’ sound when they return to the Nottingham Arena on Tuesday May 1.

The four piece band, made up of Connor Ball, Tristan Evans, James McVey and Brad Simpson, will stop off at Nottingham on their Night and Day Arena Tour which kicks off next month.

The band have released three studio albums with the tour named after the third one, Night and Day, which reached number one in the UK album chart.

Tristan said: “The tour is new, it’s different and we’re taking a different angle with it.

“The new sound is much different to our old sound, the first album, and we’re refreshing the new songs to sound current Vamps.

“I think the new sound is to get specific ‘airy pads’.

“The first one was more acoustic guitar, the second album was more synths and this one is more airy synths, more atmospheric.”

Connor revealed which aspect of performing live he relishes the most.

He said: “It’s awesome when people sing back to you – especially new songs.

“We played one on the last tour which was really acoustic and then by the second day, people would upload it to YouTube and they’d know the words to a song they’d never heard before.
