Emergency crews closed Watnall Road in Hucknall in both directions to tackle a house fire.
Firefighters from Stockhill and Hucknall and Notts Police attended the scene of the blaze, which started just before before 3pm.
Crews say the fire involved a set of solar panels on a semi-detached house and was put out by firefighters using a hose reel jet and breathing equipment.
No-one was hurt in the incident but motorists are being asked to avoid the area due to heavy traffic building up around the closure.
