Winds of up to 50mph could disrupt travel and cause damage in Nottinghamshire as the remnants of Storm Eleanor blow through the county.
A yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office covering most of the region and half the UK is in place until 7pm tonight (January 3).
As of Wednesday morning a few hundred people in Notts were without power to their homes following strong winds overnight.
Utility company Western Power Distribution says everyone affected should have services restored by lunchtime.
The centre of #StormEleanor is now moving out into the North Sea, but it will remain very windy in many areas. Yellow warnings remain in force https://t.co/oot4bcaksN pic.twitter.com/RZd9KlWDZC

A Met Office forecaster said: “Strong winds will continue through much of today. Storm Eleanor is now over the North Sea and although winds are not expected to be as strong as during Tuesday evening and last night, it has left a swath of strong winds in its wake.
“Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are expected with some journeys taking longer.
“Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also possible, and there is also the potential for some short term loss of power supplies.”
The yellow weather warning means people are being advised to be aware of the risk of problems while travelling and the possibility of power cuts.
Winds are expected to calm on Thursday morning, with rain forecast for the morning leading to a clearer end to the week.
