Winter Wonderland

Nottingham’s NET Winter Wonderland returns to Old Market Square and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The NET Winter Wonderland throws open its snowy gates on Saturday 19 November until Sunday 8 January and over 100,000 people are expected to visit from across the country!

This year there’s loads of amazing wintery attractions and activities to get involved in, including the East Midlands’ first ever Ice Bar! Here’s a preview of what to expect:

Ice Rink

Winter Wonderland

The East Midlands’ largest real outdoor ice rink returns. Measuring a whopping 30m x 25m there’s plenty of room for families and friends to get in the Christmas spirit by skating al fresco in the heart of Winter Wonderland. There’ll be a ‘Ski Lodge’ style boot room adding to the alpine feel of the rink and light up barriers to add that extra sparkle as the dark nights draw in!

There’s even a range of themed skate session so keep your eye on the Winter Wonderland website and Facebook page so you don’t miss out.

Tickets are on sale now.

East Midlands’ First Ice Bar

This year, Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland will host the East Midlands’ first ever Ice Bar. With ice walls, real ice sculptures and drinks served in glasses made from ice you’ll feel like you’ve stepped straight into the arctic!

It is highly recommended that bookings be made in advance and tickets are selling fast so make sure you book your place before they all go!

Victorian Winter Market

Winter Wonderland

The popular Victorian Christmas Market is back, offering a variety of handmade goods and festive gifts. On Long Row you’ll find cabins selling cheese, handmade chocolates, festive presents and silky pashminas. On Smithy Row you can buy handmade silver jewellery, handcrafted wood carvings, framed Lego characters and porcelain aromatherapy domes. In the heart of the event on Market Square, you’ll find traditional festive food vendors selling turkey and stuffing rolls, quirky venison burgers and of course the Notts favourite – mushy peas and chips. There are also traders selling jams and spreads, a variety of chilli sauces and hot roasted chestnuts so there’s no need to go home hungry after a visit!

Winter Bars

Winter Wonderland

You can get a range of drinks from the Nottingham Winter Bar including, hot toddy’s, lagers and winter favourite Mulled Wine. Get out of the cold in the sheltered seating area or head over to the world’s only Helter Skelter Bar as it returns selling a variety of hot and cold drinks. The kids can enjoy the fun of the helter skelter while you have a cheeky drink at the bar – perfect!

Find out more about all of the attractions at this year’s Winter Wonderland and book tickets for the Skating Rink and Ice Bar on the Nottingham Winter Wonderland website!
