Stories With Santa at Wollaton Hall

Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 December

Visit the Courtyard Grotto at Wollaston Hall for an afternoon adventure with Santa. Listen to stories of the North Pole and sing along with the Elves! Includes a present for every child.

Christmas at Holme Pierrepont Country Park

Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 December

Christmas Market

This year there’ll be a Christmas Market outside the Country Park Café where there’ll be local stalls selling lots of festive goodies, perfect for Christmas.

Nottingham Santa Run

Starting the day with a fun warm up, then run, walk or skip your way around 3km of festiveness at one of the UK’s largest Santa Runs & Walks! There will be around 2,500 Santas running (and walking) to support and fundraise for Rainbows Hospice.

Everyone receives a FREE Santa Suit and Awesome Finisher’s Medal.

Santa Splash

It wouldn’t be the National Water Sports Centre without doing a water themed version of the Santa Fun Run! Alongside the Nottingham Santa Run there’ll be a Santa Splash on the Lagoon – whether you fancy jumping in a canoe, kayak or on a stand-up paddleboard, join them for a festive paddle.

Time: 12pm – 2pm

Entry Fee: £15 (includes Santa hat, water use and hot drink)


Steaming Days at Papplewick Pumping Station

Saturday 10 & Sunday 11 December

Throughout the day there will be a pop up museum with soldier’s canteen, a Home Front display tent and a weaponry tent. All will be manned by members of Echoes of a Gilded Age.

There will also be regular talks during the day including dramatic presentations and talks on the conscription act, the battle of the Somme, bombs, meeting a Conchie, faith and war and women’s roles.

The engines will be open and in steam from 11am-5pm on both days with tours of the underground reservoir also available.

A Children’s Tale – Rufford Country Park

Saturday 10 December from 4.30pm to 6.30pm

Head to Rufford Country Park for an evening of magic in their woodland hide away. Listen to the old man of the woods whilst he tells you a tale full of Christmas spirit.

Please note: parking charges apply, unless arriving after 3.30pm

Event involves a short walk into the woodland, please dress warmly with suitable footwear and bring a torch. Not suitable for people with mobility issues. Not suitable for under 4’s.
