A woman walking home in the early hours of Sunday (April 19) morning was assaulted after she was approached by a man near the Tesco Express store.
The attack happened around 3am on Sunday but the 27-year-old woman did not receive any life-threatening injuries.
Officers are appealing for witnesses after the incident on Hucknall Road, Carrington.
The man in question is described as being a white man in his late 30s to early 40s.
He is described as less than 5ft 8ins tall with a muscular, stocky build and a tattoo on his neck.
Nottinghamshire Police are asking for anyone with any information to call them on 101, quoting incident number 139 of April 19.
