A 46-year-old woman has been cautioned for wasting police time after wrongly reporting she had been the victim of a sex assault in Hucknall.
Notts Police said she had claimed to have been attacked in a park off Wood Lane on Monday October 19 last year.
A spokesman for the force said: “Nottinghamshire Police takes all reports of sexual assault seriously and will carry out a thorough investigation.
“In this case the allegation was shown not to have happened, and as a result the woman has been cautioned.”
