Woman cut free from wreckage after car crash near Bingham

A woman had to be cut free from the wreckage of car crash on the A46 in Nottinghamshire.

Firefighters said the accident involved two cars close to Saxondale and happened at 9.17am on Wednesday.

The woman was taken to hospital after being rescued by crews from Bingham and West Bridgford.

Gerry Williscroft, who was incident commander at the scene, warned motorists: “This incident took place on the old A46 just outside Bingham.

“I’d like to quickly urge people to take extra care when driving in these damp conditions.”
