Youths threaten teenage boys with machetes in street robbery

Two teenage boys were robbed in a city centre street by three other youths who threatened them with machetes.

Notts Police say the two victims, both aged 14, were approached on Chaucer Street, close to Nottingham Trent University, at 3.45pm on Sunday (December 17).

The robbers produced machetes and demanded they hand over valuables. They stole a bag containing a games console and games and a coat from the boys.

Both boys were unhurt and police are appealing for information.

One of the robbers is of mixed race, aged 15-16, about 5ft 10ins and is of slightly stocky build. He was wearing red Michael Jordan trainers, a dark-coloured tracksuit top and bottoms and a dark waterproof jacket with the hood up.

The second is of mixed race, aged 14-15, about 5ft 7ins and is of skinny build. He was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit top and bottoms and a dark blue waterproof jacket with bright colouring down the left sleeve.

The third is of mixed race, aged 14-15, about 5ft 7ins and is of skinny build. He was wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with any information about the robbery is asked to contact Notts Police on 101, quoting incident number 731 of December 17, of Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
