£250,000 improvements to Victoria Bus Station completed

Victoria Bus Station has had a £250,000 makeover to improve facilities for over two million bus passengers who use the station every year.

Victoria Bus Station in the City centre has seen a whole host of improvements funded by the Department of Transport which includes new signs, a re-glazed glass roof, improved seating and new automated doors and flooring.

A new Travel Centre has been opened at the Victoria Bus Station which will provide better information and access to more services.

Customers will be able to buy and top up their Citycard’s, which are used to pay for travel and membership to facilities in the city.

Ten bus departure information screens and several other display screens are also part of the £250,000 improvements, as well as a new ‘Superloo’ for people with mobility difficulties.

We want to encourage more people to use public transport and by making the station more comfortable and improving information about the bus services available there.

Councillor Nick McDonald, Portfolio Holder for Jobs, Growth and Transport at Nottingham City Council

Nottingham City Council expect that the improvements will mean that more people will choose to travel on the bus.
