A £60 million private hospital creating 150 jobs has opened in Tollerton.

The centre has been built by Spire Healthcare on land next to Nottingham City Airport and includes 58 beds and five operating theatres.

The facility will offer treatment to patients with insurance but also to self-paying and NHS patients who are referred there.

Hospital director Will Presley said: “This is the first time Spire Healthcare has built a greenfield facility in an entirely new operational area [Nottinghamshire].

“There was strong feedback from consultants that this is where a hospital was needed to provide Nottingham and wider East Midland communities with excellent access to a comprehensive range of medical services and up-to-date facilities.”

The hospital will also include an advanced radiology department designed to treat patients with cancer which will contain an MRI, CT scanner and X-ray.
