Video: Notts Tonight’s Hugh Casswell takes a look at the finds
Archaeologists at caves previously unknown to historians have found hundreds of artefacts which are all being dated and cleaned at a Beeston laboratory.
The artefacts have been discovered after the team found a connection between the unknown cave and two brand new ones.
The lab has a whole room devoted to finds just from the city centre site.
Post excavation at Trent & Peak Archaeology Alison Wilson said: “One interesting find shows evidence that there was pottery production on site.
“We’ve got the outline of a pottery jug on both sides of an old roofing tile which has been used as a spacer.
“It all dates to the 13th and 14th century.”
