Assault update: Man arrested in connection with city centre assault

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Nottingham city centre and has been detained on suspicion of causing intentional grievous bodily harm.

The incident took place in Upper Parliament Street at around 3.30am on Wednesday and the victim, also aged 21, remains in serious condition in hospital.

Part of the pavement on Upper Parliament was cordoned off as well as Trinity Walk forcing businesses in the area to close.
