Nottingham City Council has fully approved the long-awaited plans to redevelop the Broadmarsh.

The overhaul was first given the green light back in June, but full permission was held while minor points were ironed out over access to the caves of Nottingham and which should be used.

The authority gave full permission to owners Intu to carry out the work at a meeting of its planning committee on Wednesday.

Changed include a new facade, cinema, and complete revamp of the interior.

A different set of plans by the council to transform the Broadmarsh Car Park are still under consideration.

Work is expected to start on the shopping centre next year.
