Broxtowe building transformed into gymnastics school

An under-used building in the heart of Broxtowe has been transformed into a gymnastics school.

The Six Ways Community Centre on Denton Green has been barely used before now.

The centre has been taken over by Nottingham City Gymnastics who decided it was a perfect place for their new branch of gymnastics clubs.

The group now has over 350 members and they say its non-competitive environment attracts people of all ages.

David Perry, Club Manager.

The gymnastics club has had to change premises due to big renovations at their old home in Harvey Haddon Sports Stadium.

The school is hoping to encourage more people to get involved no matter what their abilities are.

When you come to gymnastics it doesn’t matter what you look like or who you are, it’s just about having fun, particularly at our club.

Kacey Scrimshaw, 15-year-old Gymnast.

The school also offers youngsters the opportunity to learn to coach others in the sport.

The club is encouraging people to come along to their open day to learn about their free taster sessions over the summer.
