A busy part of Nottingham’s ring road was closed during Monday morning’s rush hour after a crash between an ambulance and a car.

The collision happened at around 6.15am at the junction between Valley Road and Radford Road in Old Basford.

It is thought the ambulance was travelling on a blue light call at the time and two people have been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be serious. It is not yet clear if a patient was in the ambulance at the time.

Long delays built up around Valley Road and Hucknall Road and several NCT bus services were also affected.

The road was cleared and re-opened by around 8.45am.
